A friend of mine with a Mazda 6 2.0 diesel had dpf problems within 600 (mostly motorway )miles of purchase - from new! - followed by numerous visits to the dealer, All OK now though. The best diesel DPFs seem to be the closed coupled ones which usually achive passive regen.
We trusted a Mazda dealer with our 2008 Mazda 6 diesel and was ripped off completely. I suspected the DPF problem and trusted them to perform a proper diagnosis. After they charged us $1000 replacing injectors the car had sent into exact same limp mode 5 mins after leaving the dealer.
Hoping someone can help me.. With my first Mazda, it is a Mazda 3 1.6 HDI 2006. I bought my first Mazda 3 and recently found out it has DPF issues ( few days). I did a lot of reading on the internet and found the car is a Focus and i can connect to it 100% with Ford Scan. The problem is when driving the car loses a lot of power and struggles to go.

Thu 5 Jan 2012 08:50. Mazda 5 - Mazda DPF oil return to sump - TeeCee. From previous traffic here, my understanding is that you have the wrong end of the stick! Diesel is not "added to the DPF filter", it is injected into the exhaust stroke of the engine. It then vapourises and travels to the DPF down the exhaust pipe.
